How does the Lioness Club of Sodus support their many service projects?

The local Lioness ladies have several fundraisers during the year that provide the monetary support needed for their service projects. 

  • They host an annual "Breakfast with Santa" for the community the first Saturday in December. 
  • They have published an origianl book of Lioness Recipes which is on sale.  Titled "Anchors and Apples" it contains many recipes from our maritime and fruit belt region.
  • They are raffling off a "Wii" system - drawing will be at the Breakfast with Santa

What are some of the service projects undertaken by the Lioness Club of Sodus?

  • The local club has an ongoing commitment to providing holiday cheer for the residents of the Sodus ARC home.  There are parties or events scheduled for Valentine's Day, Easter, a summer picnic, Halloween and Christmas.
  • The residents of Blossom View Nursing and Rehabilitation Center enjoy an annual "high tea" presented in the Spring by the Lioness ladies.
  • The Environmental Committee participates in "Adopt-a-Highway" twice a year.  Our organization picks up along Route 88 south of the village of Sodus.
  • The Beautification Committee works in conjunction with the Sodus Garden Club to help with upkeep of community garden projects.
  • The Sight First Committee works hand in hand with the local Sodus Lions Club to put on Photo Screening Clinics for local children.  They also collect used eyeglasses for the International Lions Eyeglass Reclamation project.
  • The club provides scholarships to high school seniors at both Sodus Central School and the Wayne/Finger Lakes BOCES.
  • The Girl Scout Liaison schedules times when local Girl Scouts can work with our club to earn service merit badges.
  • The annual Breakfast with Santa, while a fundraiser for the club, has also become a Christmas tradition in Sodus - a place for the community to gather and fellowship.
